José María Caro is Chief Content Officer —CCO— at Secuoya Studios. An audiovisual executive and producer with more than 25 years of experience in the creative and media industries, he has built a solid career in the creation, development, production, distribution and management of content for some of the sector’s leading companies. Caro’s profile is backed by extensive national and international experience, with leadership roles at Amazon MGM Studios, Warner Bros. Discovery, MBC Group, Mediapro and Buendía Estudios. Throughout his career, he has led creative, editorial and production teams, driving original projects for high-growth markets and contributing to the positioning of benchmark brands in the entertainment industry. His profile combines strategic vision, creative judgment and deep experience in the end-toend management of content, from editorial development and executive production to the definition of distribution strategies and business growth. An international vision of the content industry Before joining Secuoya Studios, José María Caro was Director of Local Original Production at Warner Bros. Discovery, where he oversaw the development and production of original content for the Spanish market. He has also been linked to Amazon Studios, participating in the development and production of titles such as Cuando nadie nos ve, Furia, Los Farad and Reina Roja. At Buendía Estudios, he served as executive producer on fiction productions including ‘La Templanza’, ‘La cocinera de Castamar’, ‘Señor, dame paciencia’ and ‘Los Protegidos: El regreso’. His international career also includes several years working in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, where he led original content for highly complex, high-potential markets. José María Caro holds a degree in Film and Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts —NYU—. He also holds a Master’s degree in Communication Management and the Entertainment Industry from the University of Southern California — USC—, as well as a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Production from the Complutense University of Madrid
